Winter Reading Program: Catch a Keeper at your Library

January 3, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Plum Creek Library System and most of its member libraries will launch its annual winter reading program in January, “Catch a Keeper at Your Library” Is the theme for the 2022 reading challenge and it will run from Jan. 1 through March 31, 2022. The program, open to ages 16 and beyond, is held every year during the winter months, and rewards readers for doing what they love to do: read.

To take part in the program, simply sign up at Minneota Public Library and start reading in January. You will get a punch card/reading log to record the number of books read. For every 12 books read, you pick out a prize. Prizes this year include the traditional cups with the 2022 theme printed on them and the large candy bars. Also this year we’re offering “snowflake tools” – small metal snowflakes that fit in your hand and are an18-in-1 Multi-Tool Screwdriver, and some book bags imprinted with our penguin fishing theme.

At the end of March, we will have a prize (yet to be determined) for the person who reads the most books!

Reading materials may be in any format including audio books and e-books. We encourage our area “Snowbirds” to participate by reading ebooks or listening to audio books that can be checked out through Libby or Hoopla on their phones or computers. Everyone is encouraged to visit the library to find a book, but all can use the digital resources as well. Books read for the program do NOT need to be checked out at Minneota Public Library, but we will help you find many books to read within the Plum Creek Library System.
